Launching a new platform for all the cockroaches out there.
The original X post that started CJP.
Those in power think citizens are cockroaches and parasites. They should know that cockroaches breed in rotten places. That's what India is today.
For too long, people have been quiet in India. There is a responsibility to take this moment and not laugh it off.
I have my differences with the PM, but I believe the CJI has no right to insult him. Not having a legitimate degree does not give anyone the right to call fellow citizens 'parasites'.
Gen Z wouldn't like it if current politicians joined the CJP.
I am not delusional; I know this can die out in a few days. I do want to make it an independent body, but the least I can do is create a space or platform for people, especially the youth, to be heard.
I think the biggest takeaway from the response is that young people in India are frustrated since no political party has done anything for them in the last few years. I think that is precisely why all have signed up as cockroaches.
They understand their constitutional rights and will express their dissent through peaceful and democratic means. And please, do not demean them. Many of these young people are far more educated and informed than those currently running the government.
It was impromptu. I tweeted something. Within a few hours, the idea had spiralled into something I was no longer in control of. I'm still not.
